bombarda (De lombarda, infl. por bomba).
1. f. Cañón antiguo de gran calibre.
2. Nombre genérico que se daba a las antiguas piezas de artillería.
3. Buque de dos palos, armado de morteros instalados en la parte de proa.
4. Embarcación de cruz usada en el Mediterráneo, sin cofas, de dos palos, el mayor casi en el centro y el otro a popa.
5. Antiguo instrumento musical de viento, del género de la chirimía, construido de una pieza de madera con lengüeta de caña.
6. Registro del órgano, compuesto de grandes tubos con lengüeta que producen sonidos muy fuertes y graves.
