neón (Del gr. νέος, nuevo, y -ón2).
1. m. Elemento químico de núm. atóm. 10. Gas noble escaso en la Tierra, pero muy abundante en el universo, se encuentra en el aire atmosférico y, como todos los elementos de su grupo, es químicamente inactivo. Se usa como gas de llenado de tubos fluorescentes. (Símb. Ne).
2. Tubo fluorescente que contiene este gas y produce una luz brillante.
