religión (Del lat. religĭo, -ōnis).
1. f. Conjunto de creencias o dogmas acerca de la divinidad, de sentimientos de veneración y temor hacia ella, de normas morales para la conducta individual y social y de prácticas rituales, principalmente la oración y el sacrificio para darle culto.
2. Virtud que mueve a dar a Dios el culto debido.
3. Profesión y observancia de la doctrina religiosa.
4. Obligación de conciencia, cumplimiento de un deber.
La religión del juramento.
5. orden (ǁ instituto religioso).
religión católica. f. Confesión cristiana regida por el Papa de Roma.
religión natural. f. La descubierta por la sola razón y que funda las relaciones del hombre con la divinidad en la misma naturaleza de las cosas.
religión reformada. f. Instituto religioso en que se ha restablecido su primitiva disciplina.
2. protestantismo.
entrar en religión alguien. fr. Tomar el hábito en una orden o congregación religiosa.
