tendón (De tender).
1. m. Anat. Cada uno de los órganos formados por tejido fibroso, en los que las fibras están dispuestas en haces paralelos entre sí. Son de color blanco y brillante, muy resistentes a la tracción y tienen la forma de cordones, a veces cilíndricos y con más frecuencia aplastados, que por lo común unen los músculos a los huesos.
2. En el caballo y otros animales, parte de los tendones flexores del pie, que pasa por detrás de la caña, desde el pliegue de la rodilla, hasta el origen posterior del menudillo.
